TRAINING A DALMATIAN

In the beginning there was darkness. The prophets told the people they must use choke collars and sharp corrections to train their dogs. And the people did as they were instructed. But the dogs were not happy. The Dalmatians were the least happy for they loved their people and wanted to learn and obey. For the Dalmatians were spirited dogs and they did not want to be trained harshly. And though they tried to do their best, the Dalmatians were thought to be stubborn and not intelligent.

Then came new prophets and they preached kindness and positive reinforcement. These prophets brought sacred devices called motivators and clickers. Some of the people rallied to the new prophets and learned from them. And they went forth and spread the word. Soon multitudes were training dogs with positive reinforcement. And the dogs were happy. Happiest of all were the Dalmatians for now they could show their true intelligence and working ability. And the Dalmatians shone like stars in obedience, agility, therapy, and public education. And their owners were proud and dog training emerged from the darkness into the light.
