This month's featured rockstar font, Jr.Popstar by Chia Karaoke of Flipp, has lots of stars in it. Regular old five-pointed stars, and long-haired guitar-playin' stars. Check out the parentheses and you'll find they're back-to-back rockstars. I put stars in all of my free fonts. Chia did me one better, by putting a star in damn near every letter. How starry is that? Way starry.

Chia Karaoke knows something that Peter Max tried to teach us thirty years ago: There aren't enough stars in this world. "I tried to make the perfect Saturday-morning-cartoon, sugary-cereal, pop font," says Karaoke. "I was listening to Aqua when I made this font."

A skilled designer whose work includes the custom font and logo for Woodstock '94 as well as tour shirt designs for bands like Soundgarden, Seal, R.E.M. and Sheryl Crow, Mister Karaoke is also guitarist for starpoprock band Flipp. On stage Chia Karaoke does his part to make sure there's at least one more star in this world. And that's a good thing. Cuz you can never have too many stars in this life.

Here's a little tip for you aspiring graphic designers: If you're ever having trouble with a design project you're working on, try adding some stars. Doesn't matter what your design is, just add some stars and watch your piece come to life. Because a star is a wonderful icon which can mean nothing but good things. Stars are lucky glitter. I tried to put stars in every blank space in this month's font.

Mister Karaoke sent me this alphabet in Adobe Illustrator format. I imported it into Fontographer and made it into a font with my patented Soopersecret Alphabetician's Fontmaking Technique, then sent it back to Chia so he could make the image you see below.
