PlanetAll.com: Who are YOU Trying To Find?
PlanetAll.com: Who are YOU Trying To Find?

George Bush left the White House shortly after Man or Astroman? arrived on Earth. One of a number of outer space rock groups to arrive on this planet in the early '90s, Man or Astroman?'s arrival was a harbinger of the changing of the guard in America's leadership, and a change in the spirit of American Rock and Roll. A rebirth, if you will, of the raucous and raunchy sounds of the 1960s surf-rock, and a giant step away from the lifeless technopop that controlled our culture in the '80s. Fooey on Falco, viva la Dick Dale! Pipeline siempre!

Crash landing their spaceship in Auburn, Alabama in 1992, MoAM? later relocated to a homebase in the Atlanta area. Since then Man or Astroman? have crisscrossed America dozens of times, collecting data to send back to their home planet in Grid Sector 23-B61. For years, these spacemen have been travelling our American highways in a primitive earthling vehicle known as a "van." Fuel is obtained using money they receive in exchange for performing spirited rock shows at punk nightclubs, record stores, and coffeehouses. A loyal cult following of space rock fans ensued. Research continues. Mission accomplished!

As a rock outifit, Man or Astroman? is a model many startup bands should look to for inspiration. MoAM?'s rise to popularity stems not from a quick sucking of the corporate music industry teat, but from a lot of hard work on the road and in the studio.

In the last half-decade or so, the band has written scores of new instrumental rock anthems, released seven full-length albums, birthed dozens of seven-inch singles, and appeared on more compilations and import records than you can shake a raygun at. And they've toured through all of it. All that touring and hard work paid off. Man or Astroman? are official rockstars now. They just got back from touring in Europe, where they are large like David Hasselhoff.

Mister Hasselhoff will be making a font for me next month. This month's rockstar font is by Coco, the Electronic Monkey Wizard of Man or Astroman? Coco e-mailed me this font in outline format and I fontified it for him, using my Soopersecret Alphabetician Fontmaking Technique. The scientific-sounding name, Isotope, was chosen by Coco.

Enjoy this font and use it often.
