Floss Boy: Are some people more cavity prone than others? My brother only brushes his teeth on his birthday each year, while I brush and floss twice a day. He has no cavities and I have lots! Why? ANSWER

Peter: Dentists tell us that teeth should be professionally cleaned every six months, but doesn't this just put money in their pockets? I have gone without a professional cleaning with no problem (assessed by my dentist) for years. General good hygiene, including flossing and daily brushing will do wonders and save a dosh of money. Vividream: I'm a 41-year-old guy who went to the dentist recently. Without warning, I had an oozing, plastic device placed in my mouth that turned out to be fluoride treatment. I nearly upchucked. Does an adult need fluoride treatments?ANSWER
