Tripod member Lenora2 asks:
Do you know how to remove mothball odor from clothing?

Handy Girl Candi suggests:
Because I shop a lot at thrift stores, I'm constantly bringing home clothes that reek of mothballs or skanky perfume! There's no one magic antidote, but it's usually possible to get these smells down to a bearable level. Sometimes just washing (or dry cleaning) the garment takes care of this problem. (A cup of vinegar added to the rinse water can really help things along.) If the smell remains, move on to the fresh air cure — hang the garment outdoors on a sunny windy day. If a day (or two or three) of airing isn't enough, I've heard of another interesting technique. I haven't tried it myself, but it sounds reasonable and it shouldn't hurt your clothes. Put the clothes, plus three or four fabric-softener sheets, into a big garbage bag. Close the bag tightly and let it sit for a week. Then take out the clothes and let them air out for a few days. Or, if the clothes can stand a trip through the dryer, put them in there with a few dryer sheets and tumble them without heat ("air dry" or similar cycle) for 20 minutes at a time, repeating until the odor is diminished.
