Welcome to Tripod's Internship Quiz! Are you dying to get a job at a particular company -- but don't know how to get your foot in the door? Or are you just interested in finding out what it would be like to work in a particular career field, without committing to an actual job yet? Then an internship might be just the thing you need! Take this quick and easy quiz, and let us tell you if you've got what it takes...

1. The Big Question: Can you afford to devote between 20 and 40 hours a week of your time to an internship which, if it pays at all, probably won't pay much more than minimum wage?

Yes! Money is not an issue for me right now.
Yes, but I'll have to take another job, or break into my piggy bank.
No. I need to make a decent living wage, right now.

2. On the first day of your unpaid internship at that hip video production company, your supervisor dumps a huge stack of paper on your desk: "Xerox and collate these for me by lunchtime!" Here's what you do:

Dump the papers in the trash. You are too talented for this menial work!
Xerox and collate those papers, cursing under your breath the entire time.
Xerox and collate those papers, understanding that grunt work comes with the territory.

3. When you have 10 things to accomplish simultaneously, and no-one is available to give you direction, here's how you deal with it:

Draw up a list of all your duties, prioritize them, and start from the top.
Try to accomplish them all at once, and complain about being overworked.
Do whichever tasks seem most personally satisfying.

4. It's three months into your internship, you've tackled all the projects they threw at you, and suddenly you have absolutely nothing to do. Now what?

I'd act busy and spend the rest of my time making free long-distance phone calls!
I'd march into my supervisor's office and demand more projects.
I'd invent projects for myself which will improve the way things are done there.

5. I want to do an internship because...

I think it's a great way to get a realistic idea of how a particular company (or industry) works.
I think it's a smart way to get a leg up on the competition for my dream job.
Because nobody in their right mind would hire someone as talentless as I am.
