You asked, Evel answered. Got a question of your own? Fire away! Or dig around the Evel archive for more Evel wisdom!
Dear Evel, I've been married 23 years. My husband has discovered a medieval role-playing chat room, and he's constantly in there — four, five, six, eight hours at a clip. It's driving me nuts. Most of it is innocent, but his "Lady Luv" has more on her mind than role-playing in this room. He keeps reassuring me nothing is going on, but I just don't trust her. Too much kissy huggies are getting to me. The kids don't even get to use the pc anymore to contact their friends. Am I nuts or what? You're a worldly man and have been everywhere. When women came on to you, how did your wife deal with it?
Your husband sounds a little wacky to me. Tell him he ought to carry on a conversation with you — at least a five-minute one, or eight minutes. I never told my wife when women came on to me. Why insult your wife? Tell him to talk to you, not the computer. The vows you take on your wedding day are mostly made with lust and desire, and when the lust and the desire are gone, the love had better be there. If it's not, the marriage fails, so just admit it. Stop living in a dreamworld, like a lot of Americans. Tell him to come down to the planet Earth.

Do you think romance can do us harm? In the long run, I mean. I believe in it (romance)... at least I used to. But now that I've finally found the one girl that I desire, I can't help fearing that the romance will do us both harm when the relationship starts to cool down. How can we reconcile this self-contradiction?

If there's romance, the relationship won't cool down. You gotta try it to find out! Live together for a little while, then you'll find out.
