LIVING & TRAVEL

July 28-August 1, 1996: Washington State-Williamstown, MA

This week, Ethan and Rachel recount their five-day race from Washington State back to Williamstown, MA, in time for work on Monday morning. After a car crash, too many stop signs and narrowly missing another big mall, they begin to wish they'd flown over Canada. The two exceptions: Lake Louise, and Victoria, "the most British city I've ever seen, including London," according to Ethan.

(Ethan and Rachel didn't think much of the Canadian roads, but they did meet some stellar Canadian Tripod members, including a group of Shriners -- read about these encounters next week in "We Said," the final Roadtrip installment.)

You can always return to the Roadtrip and learn more about who and what Rachel and Ethan have seen.

Ethan Zuckerman, Tripod's Director of Research and Development, and Rachel Barenblat are driving cross-country.
