Every Friday, one of our staffers sends our readers a short message about life in Billsville. This week, designer Jesse Milden talks about how he reacted to the lack of art, music, and culture in this small New England village by "learning to cook his own." Be sure to check out the examples of artworks from a multimedia show that Jesse recently sponsored!
Events of the last week have convinced me that I've discovered a new natural law the conservation of Tripodians. As one long-time Tripod employee hangs up his spurs and rides out West, two members of the Tripod crew welcome a new arrival.
As you all know by now, Tung Pham has ridden off into the sunset, leaving the Tripod Ping-Pong circuit short one of its most active members. Beancounter Bruce Ludemann seems to be taking Tung's departure the hardest he's been found in the gameroom, paddle in hand, serving lobs to an invisible opponent. Fortunately, Bruce got a reprieve last week when Lycos's CEO, Bob Davis, came to visit and decided to check out the local Pong action. Bruce made it clear that, while we're thrilled to be part of the Lycos family, no one beats us on our home table.
Biggest news this week is the arrival of the newest little Tripodian Samuel Patrick Glenn, born on Friday the 13th to Editorial Director Josh Glenn and former Human Resources director Susan Roe. Mom, Dad and baby are doing fine... as is current HR-guy David Stewart, who won $20 in the staff baby pool, and is now reportedly trying to convince Josh and Susan to teach Sam C++ so he can help the tech guys with the homepage builder before other obligations like kindergarten kick in.
