Tripod Insider

In corporate America, it can be difficult to find people willing to take the blame for something gone wrong. Yet again it's clear that Tripod is unique -- we've got so many people willing to take the blame that no one knows who's really responsible. Admin VP and facilities czar Bruce Ludemann sent an e-mail to the staff in Williamstown asking: "Does anyone know how the window by Gail's desk got broken?" Tripodians quickly responded. Here's what some of us said:

Editor Dan Reines: "Well, I was beating a dead horse and my stick hit it by accident."
Developer Mike Dye: "The Peeps did it."
Software Guru Jeff Vander Clute: "I was racing my motorcycle around the lobby. Sorry."
Marketing Associate Maryl Neff: "I was warming up my pitching arm."
Executive Assistant JoAnn Bates Fine: "Ping pong players left the door to the playroom open."
R&D; VP Ethan Zuckerman: "Colleen got mad at me and threw me through the window, then ran down four flights of stairs to catch me before I splattered on the pavement."
Marketing VP Scott Walker: "Okay, I confess, I did it to the Peeps!"
Director of Community Development Teri Myers: "Okay -- I confess. I was so excited about FINALLY getting this engagement official-ized (is that a word?) that Niel and I got a *little* exhuberant during our celebration (don't ask)."

We won't ask, Teri, but congratulations on your engagement.

Did you break the window in Gail's office? Let me know -- my mailbox is always open.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to e-mail Ethan Zuckerman, Vice President, Research & Development. His mailbox is always open.
