Say what you will about how we run a Web site -- Tripodians know how to throw a party. To celebrate our relationship with Lycos, our new hires, and basically the fact that it's summer, we threw ourselves a little pool party at Birch Hollow, the country estate of Dick Sabot, international man of mystery. That wasn't the only throwing going on: the giant sumo wrestling suits allowed Tripodians to throw themselves at each other with little risk of injury (unless you were wrestling membership assistant Mike Marcella). And lots of us threw tennis balls at the folks sitting in the dunking booth, especially when the target was Lycos CEO Bob Davis, who threw folks into a frenzy by wearing a T-shirt depicting a certain Tripod competitor.
Two new Tripodians have thrown aside their old lives and joined us in the beautiful Berkshires. We welcome David Reid as our new design director and Zayar Maungmaungkhin as our new assistant system administrator. Zayar's already caused a stir in the ranks: some ping pong players seem to regard him as a threat. As reigning pong champion David Stewart puts it, "he's got great wrists." David, we're glad you notice these things.
