We're finally getting used to the idea of being part of a bigger company here at Tripod. This week we took a big step by jumping on a bus and joining our friends in Waltham, MA, for the Lycos annual meeting. The big highlight: the 12 cars parked out front with Lycos paint-jobs: jet black with white lettering advising other drivers to "Get Lycos or Get Lost." Several Tripodians are talking about customizing their own rides -- intern David Kinsley has already taken the plunge. A small problem for several Tripodians - the decals are a little too big to fit on mountain bikes, the commuter vehicle of choice around these parts!

Few proposals were discussed as much as Bob Davis's offer to the increasingly pregnant Margaret Gould Stewart. Bob (CEO of Lycos) is rumored to have offered to pay college tuition for Margaret and David's baby if the infant is named "Lycos." Margaret and David are contemplating the offer, but there's some speculation that Tim Koogle (CEO of Yahoo) is planning a counter offer, which covers both undergraduate education and law school. Exciting as these discussions were, nothing turned heads like Account Manager Jennifer Duddy's exit from the party. On her way to a sales call, Jennifer walked right into the deep end of the hotel pool and took a brief, fully-clothed swim. Like a trooper, Jennifer dried off and made her way to the call. Some people really know how to make a splash at company meetings!
