         Guidelines

    Welcome to the Y2k Pod!

All Tripod members are welcome to join this Pod. If you're not a member yet, become one now!

It is important to keep in mind that Pod members are held to the Tripod Terms of Service in chat rooms, conferencing, on their Web pages, and in any other Pod activity.

Any page that you wish to add to the Pod should be a Tripod member page. Your page should be related to the content of this Pod. There are a few key things to keep in mind:

    • The page you submit to this Pod should not merely be a cover page that links to another Web server; for your page to be listed as a page in the Y2k Pod, the page must be on Tripod and it must contain content related to the Pod itself.
    • Pages that list links can be useful resources, but not if there are only one or two links. If you're going to recreate Lycos, more power to you. But pages with less than 10 or so links really can't be considered 'resourceful'.
    • Although Tripod doesn't have a problem with commercial Web pages, the Y2k Pod will not list them. Pages made by or representing commercial organizations are welcome only if the pages themselves don't attempt to sell anything. Pages for buying, selling, or trading collectibles are also okay, as long as the pages are for personal collections and are not for profit.
    • Furthermore, the page you want listed in this Pod has to be yours. The Tripod Terms of Service (not to mention the law enforcement community) explicitly frowns upon copyright violations. Please don't rip off somebody else's work. That's not nice.

If your page is not on topic, it will be removed from the Pod and you will be notified by email. If your page is removed, remember that you are still a member of the Pod, and that you are free to submit your page for inclusion once you update it to reflect the topic of the Pod.

It is the right of the Poderator to determine what is and is not appropriate for the Publisher's Page.

Remember, you don't need to have a page to join the Pod, you can always add a page later. If you need help building a homepage try our Homepager!

    See you in the Pod!
