1. ELIGIBILITY
This contest (the "Contest") is void WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. Entry is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States logging into the Internet from the United States. Employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives (and their immediate families and household members) of Tripod, Inc., Lycos, Inc. and their respective affiliates and advertising and promotional agencies are not eligible to play. It is not necessary to purchase any products in order to participate in the promotion.

2. TO ENTER
To enter, during the period beginning on April 1,1999, and ending on April 30, 1999, create and describe the most extreme sport you can imagine in the form located at http://www.tripod.com/promotions/anton. Entrants may also enter this Contest by legibly printing their first and last name, telephone number, e-mail address and new extreme sport on a 3 inch x 5 inch card or piece of paper, placing the card or paper in an envelope, and mailing it to: "Chairman of the Boards Contest", Tripod, Inc., 160 Water Street, Williamstown, MA 01267. No photocopies, reproductions or facsimiles are allowed. Each contestant will receive one chance to win per entry. All entries must be submitted and received by Tripod on or before April 30, 1999. All entries become the exclusive property of Tripod. Tripod reserves the right to limit the number of entries in the Contest for any or no reason, at any time.

3. HOW WE PICK AND NOTIFY WINNERS
Tripod shall select one grand-prize-winning entry and ten runner-up entries during the period beginning April 1, 1999, and ending April 30, 1999. Winning entries will be selected based on creativity and at the sole discretion of Tripod. The grand-prize winner will be awarded a snowboard. Each of the ten runners up will be awarded one t-shirt autographed by Anton Pogue. We will select the eleven winning entries before May 5, 1999. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry shall be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail address. Winners may be requested to provide Tripod with proof that such person is the Authorized Holder (as defined below) of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry. "Authorized Holder" shall mean the natural person assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.).

The winners will be notified by e-mail and/or telephone (the "Notification") within five (5) days after the determination. If a winner is unreachable by e-mail or telephone within three (3) days after the Notification is sent, we will select an alternate winner. The winners� names will be posted at http://www.tripod.com/promotions/anton/winners.html.
Entrants grant Tripod the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with the Contest or any promotions related thereto, unless prohibited by law. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Tripod and its advertising and promotional agencies to use winners� names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

4. PRIZES
One grand-prize winner will be awarded a snowboard (estimated retail value: $300.00). Ten runners up will receive one Tripod t-shirt autographed by Anton Pogue.
Prizes are subject to change. Notwithstanding the foregoing, each prize shall have a retail value of at least $10.00 and in no event shall the retail value of any prize exceed $300.00.

5. CLAIMING A PRIZE
To claim a prize, a winner must simply follow the instructions in the Notification.

6. CONDITIONS
The contest is governed by these Official Rules. By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and understand that the Contest�s results are final in all respects. All decisions regarding the Contest including, but not limited to, selecting winners and awarding prizes, will be made by Tripod, whose decisions will be final and binding.
The winners will each be required to complete, execute, and notarize an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability and, where permitted by law, a publicity release. Each winner's affidavit and release(s) must be signed and returned to Tripod within fourteen (14) days after the forms are provided by Tripod. If a winner fails to return to Tripod his/her affidavit and release(s) within such fourteen-day period, such winner�s prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.
Tripod may prohibit any entrant from participating in this Contest or any future promotion if, at the sole discretion of Tripod , such entrant (i) has tampered with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or Web site; (ii) repeatedly shows a disregard for the rules; or (iii) acts (a) in an unsportsmanlike manner, (b) with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass Tripod or any other contestant, or (c) in any other disruptive manner.
The winners are solely responsible for the payment of all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. The Contest, and all promotions relating thereto, are subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Neither Tripod nor Lycos is responsible for (i) lost, late, delayed, misdirected, unintelligible, or incomplete electronic mail or mail-in entries; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties; (iii) errors in transmission; or (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Tripod or Lycos which may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, LYCOS AND TRIPOD RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

The Contest may be terminated at any time after its commencement, without prior notice; however, any prizes due will still be awarded.

The Contest, and any promotions relating thereto, including the interpretation of these Official Rules, is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. By submitting an entry form, each contestant submits to the personal jurisdiction of that state.

7. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Neither Tripod nor Lycos is responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Web site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries in the Contest. Neither Tripod nor Lycos assumes any responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or authorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Neither Tripod nor Lycos is responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person�s computer related to, or resulting from, participating or downloading materials in this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Tripod and Lycos which corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Tripod and Lycos reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.

8. INDEMNIFICATION AND RELEASE
By participating in the Contest, and any promotions relating thereto, each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Tripod, Inc., Lycos, Inc., and their employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind either directly or indirectly related to or arising from the Contest or from acceptance, possession, misuse, or use of any prize; including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
