1. ELIGIBILITY
This promotion is VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. Entry is open to anyone who is at least 18
years old and a legal resident of the United States logging into the Internet from the United States. Employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives (and their immediate family and household members) of Tripod, Lycos, Inc., and their respective affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible to play. It is not necessary to purchase any products in order to participate in the promotion.
2. TO ENTER
To enter, during the period beginning on February 1st , 1999 and ending February 14th, 1999, visit http://www.tripod.com/promotions/ur_loved/ and follow the instructions. All entries must be submitted and received by Tripod on or before February 14th, 1999. All entries become the exclusive property of Tripod.
3. HOW WE PICK AND NOTIFY WINNERS
Tripod shall select 4 winning submissions based on the four categories. Entries will be selected based on creativity and functionality, in the sole discretion of Tripod. We will select winners by February 28th. We will notify the winner by e-mail or telephone immediately after the drawing. If we can't get in touch with the winner via e-mail or telephone within three (3) days, we will select another winner. The winners' names will be posted at http://www.tripod.com/promotions/urloved/winners.html
4. PRIZES
Each winner will receive a choice of a dozen roses or a pound of chocolate sent the person of his/her choice.
5. CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE
To claim your prize, simply follow the instructions in your email or telephone notification.
6. CONDITIONS
The promotion is governed by these Official Rules. By participating, entrants agree to these Official
Rules, and understand that the promotion's results are final in all respects. All decisions regarding the
promotion, including, but not limited to, selecting winners, will be made by Tripod, whose decisions
will be final.
The winners will be required to complete and sign an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability and, where permitted by law, a publicity release. The winner's affidavit and release must be signed and returned to Tripod within 14 days after the forms are provided by Tripod; if you fail to return the affidavit and
release within 14 days, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.
Tripod may prohibit you from participating in this promotion or any future promotion if, at the sole
discretion of Tripod, you repeatedly show a disregard for the rules, or act (i) in an unsportsmanlike
manner, (ii) with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass Tripod or any other contestant, or (iii)
in any other disruptive manner.
The winners are solely responsible for the payment of all applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
Sweepstakes are subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Tripod is not responsible for (i) lost, late, delayed, misdirected, unintelligible, or incomplete electronic mail or mail-in entries; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties; (iii) errors in transmission; or (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Tripod which may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry (email), the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the email account.
By participating in the promotion, you agree to release and hold Tripod and Lycos, Inc. harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind related to the promotion or from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
The promotion may be terminated at any time after its commencement without prior notice; however, the prize will still be awarded.
This promotion, including the interpretation of these rules, is governed by the laws of the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and, by submitting an entry form, each contestant submits to the
personal jurisdiction of that state.
