Position: message board community manager

Tripod is looking for a motivated individual to handle all aspects of the management of Tripod's volunteer Message Board program.
Responsibilities
- manage Tripod's message board (MB) based volunteers and develop general MB host team
- manage remote assistant managers
- assist in creation of self-directed training system for volunteers
- track progress and usage of message boards and interactive growth of MB community
- support for and communication with all MB based community volunteers, including any interaction with members as needed
- record keeping for all assigned volunteers
- have input into Community Department team to help develop host recruiting, orientation, and training process
- assist with scheduling and performing training sessions as needed
- other duties as deemed appropriate to this position by Community Services Manager
Skills/Experience Required
- previous experience as an online volunteer
- strong understanding of the Internet and online community, significant experience using e-mail and online chat/message board services
- ability to communicate with and manage volunteers effectively and consistently
- excellent verbal and written communication skills and decision making abilities
- college degree a plus
NOTE: As much as many of us would love to work from home, this job requires that you work out of our Williamstown, MA office.
