Meet the people
who make Tripod
|
|
|
Bo Peabody
Co-founder, Tripod, Inc. Lycos Vice President of Network Strategy
[email protected]
When he's not crunching numbers or forming alliances with the
giants of the business world, Bo can be found getting away from it
all in his beloved Massachusetts "out of doors." Many is the time
we've seen him relaxing by making a cellular conference call to
London while swooshing down the ski slopes, or corresponding with
the movers and shakers of the Internet world from his PowerBook
while fishing in the Green River. On his rare down-time, Bo is the
kind of guy who walks around "downtown" Williamstown and everyone
says hello. He's like the sheriff of Silicon Forest.

Dick Sabot
Executive Vice President, Member of Lycos Board of Directors
[email protected]
Well, now that we've got the pool table (thanks to Bruce's tricky
work with our telco's award points system sounds shady,
doesn't it?), Dick has a lot less to tell us "no" about. But he
still manages to keep us in line. During his daily visit to the
offices, we all snap to attention when we hear his voice
which is relatively easy since his voice seems particularly
well-trained for the ins and outs of sound travel. As for the
Chairman's role within the company? Let's just say that we like
to think of ourselves as the Angels to Dick's Charlie.

Don Zereski
General Manager, Tripod
[email protected]
Don likes weather. Not the way most people like, say a really
sunny day, but weather in general. Sometimes we find him on the
roof before a nasty electrical storm taunting the clouds.
Fortunately, he wears rubber-soled shoes. Apart from trying to
conquer the forces of nature, Don now keeps us Tripodians in line.
He also plays a mean game of pool, but if you wanna play, you gotta pay.

Margaret Gould Stewart
General Manager, Angelfire
[email protected]
Mags has Donny and Marie topped — she's a little bit country
and a little bit rock 'n' roll. Angelfire's exalted General Manager
goddess came to us from Knoxville, Tennessee, by way of NYC
with all the wildness of both cities intact. But what a difference
two years, a wedding, and a son makes. Just a few short months
ago, Mags was the one we had to drag out of the local watering hole
at closing time. The other night, we saw The Husband there without
her: He claimed she was at home "quilting." We sincerely hope that's
a euphemism for something else.

JoAnn Bates-Fine
Executive Assistant
[email protected]
Behind every successful CEO is a firm foot, nudging them in the
right direction. Our firm, ebullient, and brainy "foot" is JoAnn,
who recently returned home from far-off lands, bringing (literally)
a world of experience with her to Williamstown. And Bo's not the
only one who has to shape up: A former crisis phone counselor,
JoAnn scoffs at the things which make us panic (late Fed Ex
packages, lost interviewees, feisty servers...) as though it would
take a lot more than this to faze her. Hey, we're talking about a
woman with two teenagers in the house and about five dozen cousins
in town who still finds time to finish off the New
Yorker and the Sunday Times each week over a glass of red
wine...
