Searching for a job usually isn't all fun and games, but if you're doing it on the Web, it can actually be pretty entertaining. This is a short list
of the best sites I know of. If you know of others you think are particularly good, email me and I'll check them out.
Bullseye Job Shop
One of the best hot lists of job sites on the Web, except that they
ommitted Tripod! The cheek of them! Probably because Tripod is a total
service site as opposed to a jobs-only site, but who knows.
JobWeb
Sponsored by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Good
links to other job sites and an excellent resource for honing your job
search skills. JobWeb also has a lot of current info on salaries, legal
issues, diversity recruitment, internships, college relations, and general
employment/labor statistics.
The Monster Board
A fantastic resource with gobs of high quality jobs. Lets you apply
directly either by filling out a resume or letting you attach your ascii
résumé. All kinds of different searches, including keyword and you can get very specific. Listings up to date. Maybe the best job site on the Web.
Tripod
Tripod's strength lies in its comprehensiveness -- plenty of sites let you build a résumé, but Tripod goes further by providing a wealth of background information on careers and internships -- plus helpful tips on preparing for the hunt itself.
Web Dog Job Hunt
Great links, excellent for S.F. and Silicon Valley. Expect other local
sites like this one to start popping up all over the country -- hopefully
those sites will strive to emulate this most excellent resource.
