Lifelong Learning: Internships
One of the best ways to investigate a career and to find a job is to participate in an internship program. An internship is not just a temporary or part-time job, but rather a carefully monitored work or service experience in which an individual has intentional learning goals, and reflects actively on what she or he is learning throughout the experience.

Internships can last from a month to more than a year. They appeal to people at any stage of their careers. Internships can be part of an educational program or just a way to explore new opportunities. They can be volunteer opportunities, or for pay.

The 1996-1997 Edition of the National Directory of Internships, a publication of the National Society of Experiential Education, includes a comprehensive listing of internship opportunities. This searchable online database for NSEE's directory has been brought to you as a service of Tripod.

To find internship opportunities tailored to your needs, choose either a location area, a field of study, or both.
