Company Name: Prudential Securities Incorporated

1. What is your official job title?

Analyst

2. What is the job title you'd give yourself?

Grunt Worker/Jet Setter

3. What makes your job unique?

4. How did your college major / graduate school degree help prepare you for your career path?

Williams helped me to learn to think, be inquisitive and write - the actual course materials were not all that helpful.

5. What necessary career information was missing from your studies? How did you pick up those skills and knowledge?

Finance and accounting. Luckily, PSI puts each new candidate through intensive finance and accounting classes with top professors and you learn the rest on the job.

6. What difficulties did you encounter entering your chosen field?

Getting used to the hours. A work week can range from 50 hours to over 100 hours.

7. Why would you recommend your company or job?

Compared to other investment banks, PSI gives their analysts more opportunities at earlier points in their careers. From the start of my job, I wore many hats -- from Grunt Worker to Client Mantainance.

8. How does the size of your company impact your sense of job satisfaction?

PSI is small compared to other investment banks which is much more rewarding. Everyone knows everyone else and there is no problem talking to upper level people in the firm.

9. What three things are most rewarding about the work you do?

10. What three things are most frustrating?

11. What three things are most fun?

12. How do you handle work stress?

Take a break and get out of the office; take a walk. Or if I don't have time -- let out a scream.

13. How big a role does technology play in your career?

Tons - we recently got on the Net and have e-mail. It makes a huge difference in getting information and talking to clients.

14. How do you distinguish yourself from your co-workers?

I try to add a little fun to the workplace (organizing outings, drinking functions...), because sometimes investment bankers are a little dry.

15. Which popular song best describes your working life?

"Pressure"
