This week (3/27/96):
William Daniels, a business consultant, says, "Meetings matter because that's where an organization's culture perpetuates itself. Meetings are how an organization says 'you matter.'"
Are You in Meetings Hell?Meetings are a way of life at some companies. Have you ever had a good one? How bad are the bad ones? What's the silliest, most embarrassing, or most amazing thing that ever happened at a meeting?
scrub: I've been in meetings where one guy always talks softly so you have to strain to hear him. It's his way of making sure that everyone listens and realizes that whatever he says is "super important." Pretty annoying if you ask me!Walker: What bugs me most is meetings that just hang: you don't know why you're there, you don't have a clear idea of what is being talked about, or a clear sense of what is going to get done as a result of the meeting.
Freeflite: Worst meeting ever: We had to take turns in the hot seat. When it was your turn everyone was allowed to say everything bad about you that was bothering them or whatever. The worst part was you were not allowed to say a word for yourself.
