Black Sea Coast
Bulgaria may be a country shaped by the collision of East and West, but locals claim that the Black Sea coast has been shaped by Balkantourist alone. The company has attempted to create an Eastern version of the French Riviera with flashy resorts and beach sports. Varna in the north and Burgas in the south are the only coastal towns with train service and therefore serve as transit hubs for the coastal resorts and the region's small, untouristed fishing villages.
