Fyn
The island of Fyn is said to be the most Danish part of Denmark: small, farm-filled, friendly, and tranquil. The main city, Odense, is a far cry from a metropolis, though it does tout itself as the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. Fyn's tiny, castle-dotted islands are magical, and the Danish sun seems to shine more often in Fyn than anywhere else, making it the most popular part of Denmark for biking and camping. Pick up a copy of Cykelguide Fyn (75kr), a helpful guide featuring cycling maps and route descriptions, at the tourist information office in Odense (see below) or at local bookstores.
