Pelopónnisos
Almost completely surrounded by water, the Pelopónnisos peninsula, the largest in Greece, is tenuously linked to the rest of Greece by the 5-km wide Isthmus of Kórinthos. This area, both rugged and fertile, has nourished kingdoms and empires over the past few thousand years, and countless traces of these lost realms remain, conjuring up images of grand battles and ancient civilizations.
