Great Plain
Like, say, Nebraska, the Nagyalföld (Great Plain) doesn't get much attention as a fun vacation spot. When asked what he thought of the region, one local said, "I call it the Big Nothing." Still, there's more to this flat area than wasteland, Magyar longhorns, herds of sheep, wild boars, and a stray csikó (cowboy) or two. You'll find sprawling farms, villages of one-story houses, and several important cities. Because the Great Plain is one of the last outposts on the usual travel itinerary, much of it remains unspoiled by tourism, and residents genuinely welcome outsiders.
