Peeps Poetry:
Peeps can be downright inspirational.

FIRST PRIZE

DaHawk:
The X-Peeps

Twas the night before Easter
And all thru the house,
Not a Peepster was stirring
Not even it's spouse
(they do get married, ya know)

Easter Baskets were hidden
All over the place
C'mon Easter Bunny
Fill them with lots of Peeps face
(ok. so it's not Browning)

The children were nestled
All snug in their beds
While visions of Peepsters
Peeped in their heads
(leave me alone)

With Mama in Levis
And I in my jeans
Had just settled in
For some sweet jelly beans
(gimme a break)

When outside our window
Arose such a chatter
I sprang from my sofa
Too see what's the matter ()

The moonlight at night
Shone bright on our Jeeps
It was then that I saw
The thousands of Peeps
(hang in here will ya)

Led by a blue one
And followed by green
I could'nt believe
What I had just seen
(it has to get better)

Now pink ones and yellow
Pomegranate and Puce
I blared to my wife
They're all on the loose
(So I'm stretching it a bit)

So in thru the doors, in thru the windows
Marched thousands of Peeps all carrying whistles
I cornered their leader and said whats up guy
And smiling, he looked me straight in the eye
(I hope this ends soon)

As I held out my hand and stared him back down
The rest of the Peeps were circling around
All covered in sugar and sweet to the tooth
I said "Mr Peep, why you're just a youth
(someone help me)

He smiled and glittered! his bright eyes of blue
As he said back to me, Hey! aren't you one too
No! exclaimed I as I spoke with a beep
I'm merely a human, not nearly a peep
(ok. commit me)

The ears of this creature were not very long
And I asked of him, what could have possibly gone wrong
He had a round face and a little round belly
Then he confessed he was made out of jelly
(oh dear me)

He was chubby and plump, a jolly old Peep
And I asked if he ever rode in a Jeep
He winked just a bit and then turned his head
It was then that I knew I had nothing to dread
(almost over, folks)

He spoke not a word but went straight to the Jeeps
As he summoned his buddies, all the rest of the Peeps
And pointing his nose at the Peeps all aside
Said "C'mon big guy, let's go for a ride
(I can't stand the suspense)

They hopped in the Jeeps
Did those colorful Peeps
As they asked Mr; please
Just throw us the keys
(do you believe this stuff)

And away they all drove and the horn they did beep
Thousands of critters crammed in my Jeep
And I heard them exclaim as they drove out of sight
You can wake up now; it's the end of the night.
(it's over here, guys)

The moral of this story you ask?
The Peeps Are Out There!

A Poem for Bunny Peep

Peep bunnies are the best,
they hoppity-skip past the rest--
just give them half a chance
and into your mouth they'll dance...

A word of caution about chicks--
they'll confuse your mouth,
and send you south...in tears,
in search of bunny ears.

Spring's First Peep
(with a little help from Robert Frost)

Spring's first Peep is gold
Her softness so easy to hold.
The early peep is soft as a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then Peep subsides to be eaten,
As an apple in the Garden of Eden;
So dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay.

Peep Limerick:
There once was a yellow chick peep
The sight of it made children weep
Deformed as can be
That peep was ugly!
In fact it looked more like a sheep
