<--- back
Hi Evel. I was rollerblading on campus at school and trying to impress some sorority girls that were nearby, and I tried to jump off this wall in front of one of the girls' dorms. I lost my balance and ended up sending my rollerblade-wearing feet through the glass front door of the dorm, shattering it. I got scared and made my escape, and now the campus police are offering a reward for the "vandals" who broke the door. I am worried that the girls I was skating in front of will tell on me. So should I turn myself in, or lay low and hope they will keep quiet? Or maybe there is some other solution? I am scared to death right now because I could be in a lot of trouble. What should I do?
Admit nothing. Deny everything. Deny, deny, deny. It's only going to cause you trouble. This was an accident, and if you come clean, it's only going to cause you a world of trouble. They'll fix the door. Look, in a hundred years, no one's going to remember or care who broke the door. It's not worth screwing up your life over an accident. Just let it blow over.

I recently lost my mother. I am a 15-year-old student living with my aunt. I'm sure you have lost loved ones in your life. Will the pain ever get easier?     -Gabrielle

Of course it will, Gabrielle. Have you ever heard of the expression "Time wounds all heels"? Well time heals all wounds. You'll realize sooner or later that dying is a part of living, but your mother's in a wonderful place with God, and you'll see her again. Your mother would want you to go on with the rest of your life being happy.
