Welcome to an overdue installment of the Tripod Insider -- your source for all things Tripod. In this issue I coin a new office term, the tech suite gets new toys, and Tripod turns thirty; thirty thousand that is.

I've started using the phrase "Getting Bo'ed," in honor of Tripod's CEO, Bo. "Getting Bo'ed" is what happens on a Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm when Bo runs into my office and says, "Dude, I need this by tomorrow!" (He really says "dude".) Before I can react, Bo asks me what I want on the pizza. "Getting Bo'ed" is a frequent occurrence at Tripod, and does not always come with free pizza.

Here at Tripod, we're giving away T-shirts like they're going out of style. Actually, with the new site design they are out of style. I recently sent out over 200 T-shirts to lucky new Tripod members. Congratulations to the top 50 participants in Tripod's March Madness contest who will also take home a Tripod T-shirt. Thanks to Sportsline USA , for providing a free one-year membership to their sports information website to the grand prize winner.

Back in the office, we still have plenty of toilet paper from last month (see the Insider Vol.2 No. 2) so we thought we should spend our money on a new server instead. This past Monday we installed a brand spanking new Sun Sparc 20. It's a little gift to ourselves now that we're serving over 30,000 members of Tripod!

With our new server you can really take advantage of all of Tripod's great content and services. First off, Tripod's Reminder Minder service received a face lift. Now it's even easier to send yourself an email reminder about all those important dates. If you haven't used Reminder Minder before, now is the time to check it out.

The ever popular Homepage Builder has also been re-designed. It's still the same easy to use web page builder, but we've added a forms handler that will mail you the results of forms on your web pages, as well as a super cool animation builder. That's right, you can build your own animated graphics.

A note to all members who already have pages on Tripod, those pages will soon be served from a dedicated machine that will have a different name. Your current URL will still work in the mean time, but the URL for your pages should be:

http://members.tripod.com/~[your member name] /

Isn't it about time you modified or created your own page?

Tripod continues to feature weekly columns and surveys in each of our three sections. This week check out suicide as an alternative to social security, stealing from the workplace, and the tale of the phantom cow.
