Welcome to another Tripod Insider -- your source for all things Tripod. This week, "a river runs through" Tripod, Jeff and Anthony get a little light headed, and the office welcomes our summer migrant workers. Read more about the office news after editors tell you what's new on Tripod.

WORK & MONEY
Tripod members are really getting down to business with this week's Work and Money Dilemma and Survey. Our Dilemma involves a low-budget cross-country move for a new job in academia. The juicy W&M; survey polls our members about ethical considerations in choosing a job. Speaking of member submissions, the results of our "Smart Quotes" contest are in -- you can now take a gander at the winning tools for the working life. Last, but not least, Harry Goldstein's Working Life column takes a very comic look at the mixed messages our personal workspace can send to others. See you on the Work & Money page -- the buck STARTS here!

POLITICS & COMMUNITY
Ever wonder who orchestrates Congressional campaigns at the party level? In preparation for the November elections, Tripod's Political Playbook profiles the politicos charged with leading their parties to victory. Plus, Yale continues to fight against labor as teaching assistants strive to form a union. Tripod covers the conflict in Storming the Ivory Tower. Should you be able to booze when you choose? Share your opinion of liquor laws in the Politics & Community weekly survey.

HOMELIFE
This week in the Living and Travel section, Jim Berkley explains why a tornado is a movie star, David Wallis takes a cruise on China's Yangtze River before it's too late, and Ben Klipstein digs through the hype about Herbal Ecstacy. Don't forget to answer our survey on "A Quickie in the Out of Doors" and check out the results of last week's survey on the fate of summer cinema. As always, the doctor is in (this week: enlarged testicles, period pains and stretch marks) and he has a new puzzler for you. Make the diagnosis and you could win a Tripod t-shirt.

Tripod Insider
In a concerted effort to enhance our lives outside the office, a few of the Tripod team recently completed a fly fishing course. Five weeks of excellent classroom instruction culminated in a trip to the Deerfield River. Scott, Bruce, Anthony, and I -- complete with flies, rods, and waders -- took the river by storm only to find that catching trout is a heck of a lot easier away from the river over a drink. Bruce, to his credit, did get one bite.
Back in the office, Jeff and Anthony have gone to great lengths, or rather cuts, to garner more attention. In a preemptive move to prevent himself from tearing out all his hair over his database woes, Jeff shaved his head. Now Jon, Jeff's tech counterpart, rubs Jeff's head for good luck before running any new scripts. Anthony, also feeling a little stressed out, thought he would lighten his load, so to speak, and clipped most of his hair as well. He claims it will help his golf game. Dare I say he hopes to shave a couple of strokes off his handicap.
Tripod also welcomes a fine group of summer interns to our cramped offices. Interns are great because they'll do anything as long as they can put Tripod on their resume. And if they don't work hard enough, we'll just shave their heads. Jeff and Anthony will do the honors.
