I know Tripod's getting big when I start sending e-mail to staffers I haven't even met! Toymaker Chris Young (how's that for a job title?!) joined the fray a couple weeks ago, and before I even had a chance to shake his hand, we were exchanging e-conversations. But Chris certainly charmed the co-workers he did meet: He brought a plate piled high with Rice Krispies treats to his first staff meeting. Now that's a good first impression!

Chris and I finally had the chance to meet at a company party over the weekend. Given our frantic hiring pace of late, the time was right for a little soiree to let everyone get to know each other. The highlight of the party had to be the big yellow school bus that we hired to safely transport us to and from the little mountain resort where the shindig was held. As always, the back seat was prime real estate.

At the party, some people got all dressed up, and others well...didn't. Hey, this is Tripod, where shoes are optional in the office. But plenty of people did break out their best dancing shoes, which for Bruce means his old bowling shoes (for the slide factor), and hoe'd down until the wee hours of the night. Or at least until 11:00 — when the band quit.
