Living in New England, Tripod folks are used to variable weather. We've grown to expect sweltering Indian Summer days in mid October and freak snowstorms in April, sometimes even May. We're not, however, used to tornadoes, and the weather this Sunday was a shock to all of us. Under scary green skies, Williamstown and the surrounding areas experienced several tornados, combined with severe thunderstorms and hail. Thankfully all Tripod folks are present and accounted for, and our beloved factory building is unharmed.
The weather created some interesting predicaments for Tripod folks. Bruce Ludemann spent his evening supervising his neighbors as they chain sawed through the trees that blocked their road. Joann Bates Fine reports that the storm has helped her get in touch with her "inner girl scout" -- with the power knocked out, she spent the evening roasting marshmallows over her fireplace with her children. Dan Reines had the scariest tornado story -- his girlfriend was out jogging when the storm hit, and he found himself making a frantic rescue effort during the twisters. We're all patiently waiting for what El Nino will bring next.
