Billsville got a taste of Europe this week. Seven people representing Tripod in the UK & Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands descended upon Billsville and Tripod World HQ for a Webmaster Training session. Our transatlantic counterparts are working to bring Europe the same great homepage building tools and Pod interaction found on Tripod US.
It wasn't all work though. The UK Webmaster, Chris Boross, took part in Tripod's weekly bowling ritual. The word around the office was that Chris is still a "beginner," and should probably stick to soccer (or football in the UK)! Our Italian Webmaster, Gabriele Vinci, received a warm welcome from the US when he came down with the flu on his first day here and was bedridden for the rest of the week. The Spanish Webmaster, Juan Antonio Banos, was extremely quiet until he'd had a few beers on Tuesday night then we couldn't get him to stop talking!
While we were sharing our 'Pod expertise, it seems some of the Europeans' fashion chic rubbed off on us. A few people around the office, who will rename nameless (hint: rhymes with Taxonomists), are trying to make a fashion statement by growing moustaches. It's a little bit exclusive only the boys can do it. One of the girls in the tech dept. showed her support though by dying her hair orange. Well, even if we can't look as hip as our European partners, we can (and do!) express our creativity through alternate means.
