This weekend marks the opening of MASS MoCA, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Tripodians, as well as other locals in Williamstown and North Adams, have been long awaiting this date! MASS MoCA is located in North Adams, our neighbor to the east, in a 27-building historic mill complex.

There will be lots of events this weekend to kick off the opening. On Friday and Saturday, "Jet Lag" will be performed — a collaboration that merges performance, new media technologies, and architecture. On Saturday, a black-tie gala and opening dinner is being held. You might even see a few Tripodians in tuxes — not an everyday sight! Then on Sunday, Los Lobos is playing in the newly finished Concert Courtyard.

Our social date books are completely filled! There's more to do this weekend than during the rest of the year. No, not really. But, we are hoping that MASS MoCA will bring a lot of interesting art and performances to the area, and work to enrich the Berkshires even more. Come and join us if you can — MASS MoCA should really be amazing! Let us know if you're coming — we'd love the chance to meet some of our members!
