Tripod Insider

Jessica Carten, our new editorial intern, has been here a month and already she's brushed elbows with a star! She has seen Ethan Hawke (of "Reality Bites" fame) at the gym in Williamstown, several times. Design Director David Reid literally brushed elbows with Ethan Hawke — they played basketball down at the college courts this past weekend. Meeting a movie star is about the last thing you'd expect to do in Williamstown — that and finding decent Mexican food. (Taco Bell doesn't count, sorry.)

We'll be seeing lot of stars around here this summer, and not just the ones that are visible at night because there's so little light pollution around here. Hope Davis ("Next Stop Wonderland") will join Ethan Hawke in this summer's Williamstown Theatre Festival production of "Camino Real." Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow will be in town this summer, too. She'll be starring in a sold-out production of Shakespeare's "As You Like It." Tickets were gone before the box office opened.

Bebe Neuwirth, a.k.a. Dr. Lilith Sternin-Crane, will be appearing in this summer's production of "Taming of the Shrew" (my personal favorite). James McDaniel (known for his role in N.Y.P.D. Blue) will be acting in "A Raisin in the Sun," along with Kimberly Elise, who recently appeared in the movie "Beloved." Unfortunately, we won't be seeing Eric Stoltz, Tate Donovan, or Scott Wolf — the celebs that were around last year. I have no doubt that everyone's celebrity-thirst will be sufficiently quenched by the stars that will be hanging out in the local bars (all two of them), though. Come and star-watch with us if you have the chance!
