Anime Newsletter the First
First of all, for those of you who don't know about
the recent changes, this is Sir Darksol Shadowflame (sir_darksol), one
of the new pod hosts of the Anime Pod.
Message boards are slowly being cleaned out, and new ones are being
created. It seems that all we are lacking is people to participate. We
have a few who have started to post again, but we need more. I'm hoping
that people will begin coming back as they realize that the pod is being
changed actively. Please, come by and post a suggestion, comment, or request
on the message boards. I want to meet all of you.
Also, I need to schedule a chat, but have not heard
any feedback on what times work for people. Please, e-mail me at [email protected]
and tell me a few dates and times that work for you (be sure to include
what time zone you are in). The next newsletter you recieve will include
a date and time for the chat.
As for directly anime-related news, the Sailor
Moon movies have reached America's corporate video companies. Sailor Moon
R, Sailor Moon S, and Sailor Moon SS are for sale at Anime Nation (http://www.animenation.com/)
They are taking preorders right now, which means the movies are being subbed
and dubbed right now.
This all means two things, number one, get your fansubs as soon as possible
if you want the unedited versions, because the corporations are already
using their ownership of the movies to stop the sale of these "bootleg"
versions. Number two, you can go to Anime Nation and set your orders now
if you don't care.
Lastly, Sir Darksol's Anime Pick of the Week.
I'll be doing this every newsletter. I'll give you my choice for whatever
anime you should go out and rent this week.
First up, Darkside Blues. Future goth sci-fi/fantasy movie by the makers
of Demon City Shinjuku. A young boy fell into a hole in reality 18 years
before the movie starts, and when he returns, he becomes a rebel against
a corporation that owns some 98% of the Earth's surface. Violent, with
a little nudity. Not for the kiddies.
