- 1998 Winter Olympics Predictions
Check out Tripod member Gary_Amy's homage to '98 in Nagano -- Yahoo! did,
selecting this site as a Yahoo! Pick of the Week for the week of January
19, 1998. They admired the TV schedule, compendium of articles, and the
ability to vote for favorite competitors, all on Gary_Amy's Tripod site!
- Happy Kwanzaa, Now, Eat!
Tripod member Nancy_J's page full of Kwanzaa recipes is good enough to eat
-- and don't just take our word for it. The LA Times wrote about it this
time last year, and now, CNet's News.com mentioned it in an article about
Kwanzaa sites throughout the Web. Check out the article, then start cooking!
- Who Wears the Tool Belt in Your House?
We knew that they were destined for greatness, and now your favorite handy girls have made it to
MSNBC.
If you think the MSNBC page is rad, you should check out their Tripod page, Ask the Handy Girls. They will answer all your home repair questions. We think Tripod member Jennifer Kove will agree -- Jennifer's picture, as well as her personal fixit tales, run throughout the MSNBC story.
- Anderson Cooper Fan Page
http://members.tripod.com/~Ringa
Ringa's Anderson Cooper fan page isn't unusual because it pays tribute to
her favorite newscaster -- it is unusual because he talked about it on his
newscast (ABC World News) on October 15! See, we really mean it when we say a good homepage can bring you great happiness. What's next for Anderson and
Ringa? Check out the page and find out -- I'm confident she'll keep us
posted.
- Mr. Brown's Movie Site
http://members.tripod.com/~MrBrown
Mr. Brown's Movie Site has been on Tripod for as long as we can remember -- and this certainly isn't the first time this page has been in the news. We were pleased, however, to see Mr. Brown's page listed in as a top film site in THE WEB magazine's May-June 1997 issue. Check it out! Mr. Brown's Movie Site Review
- Guerrilla Media
http://members.tripod.com/~gmedia
An anti-advertising site featured in ADWEEK on August 18, 1997. Subversion is the root of all things subversive and you know it.
- Bill's Gate
http://members.tripod.com/~Saulm/bg.htm
It's a lovely "tribute" page to an American hero, maybe the greatest American hero of all time. Featured in The Tampa Tribune on August 13, 1997.
- The Cat
http://members.tripod.com/~THECAT/ Laura Dingle, 9 years old, inThe Micro Computermart of New England -- "'It's nice to be nine,' says Laura. Laura lives in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. Her hobbies are
playing the piano, drawing and sewing. Her home page reflects her artistic
ability." in the May 8, 1997 issue.
- Supersilly's Free Stuff
http://members.tripod.com/~supersilly/
This site is listed in an article about free stuff by Deborah Portersfield for The Gannett News Service on May 8, 1997. Me gusta free stuff.
- Caren and Jon Boroshok's Wedding Page
http://members.tripod.com/~CarenSF/
This site was mentioned in an article about wedding planning online in The Boston Herald on April 13, 1997. It's ok to cry.
- The Fishing Bay Yacht Club Home Page
http://members.tripod.com/~FBYC
This informative site was mentioned in The Richmond Times Dispatch on August 28, 1997. I really can't think of anything nautically quirky and/or clever to say, but the page has a cool java ticker.
- Kings Of The Underworld-Classic Gangster Films
http://members.tripod.com/~filmnoir/
This site was reviewed in YAHOO!'s Picks of the Week on September 29, 1997. It's a site which gives a good reference to Gangster Films of the 1930's. Six of the better known films of this genre are featured.
