Q: |
 |
Will Tripod work with my ISP? |
A: |
 |
Yes. Tripod will function with any Internet Service Provider, including AOL, Mindspring, Earthlink and NetZero. Simply connect to the Internet as you normally do, and launch Tripod. It will use your existing Internet connection to get to web pages and send e-mail. Please note that you cannot connect to AOL using Tripod's Dialer. Please use AOL's own software to establish your connection, and THEN launch Tripod.

Q: |
 |
Will Tripod work with AOL? |
A: |
 |
Yes. Just sign on to AOL as you normally
would, and once connected, load Tripod. It will use your
existing AOL connection to get to web pages and send e-mail.
It will not let you sign on to AOL without using the AOL program.

Q: |
 |
Can I get my AOL e-mail using Tripod? |
A: |
 |
You can not use the Tripod e-mail client to check your AOL mail account
(it does not conform to the standard POP mail protocol) but you can use AOL's web-based
e-mail system (AOL NetMail) via the Tripod browser window. NetMail can be accessed
from the AOL web site. Just navigate to the appropriate web page and logon as you normally
would using any other browser. We recommend adding the address to your channel bar if you
use the location frequently.

Q: |
 |
Can I get my mail from Hotmail using Tripod? |
A: |
 |
As with the AOL comments above, you can not use the Tripod e-mail client
to check your mail on HotMail, as their system is proprietary and does not
conform to standard POP and SMTP protocols. You may use Tripod's Browser
to connect to your HotMail account, if you have one. Again, if you use the
HotMail service frequently, we recommend adding it to your channel bar.

|
Q: |
 |
Will it support viewing pages in other languages? |
A: |
 |
As long as you have the correct language support for your current version of IE, Tripod should
perform the same way.

|
Q: |
 |
Can I have an e-mail account at Tripod (i.e. [email protected])? |
A: |
 |
No. Tripod does not currently offer e-mail accounts to its users. You will need to
have your own e-mail account in order to use the Tripod mail client. There are many
places online that offer POP e-mail service. Many of them are free.

|
Q: |
 |
What is your access number so I can use the Tripod service? |
A: |
 |
Tripod is not an Internet Service Provider. Our software is designed to complement the
offerings of ISPs and Online Services, to make your online experience with them more
enjoyable. In order to connect to the Internet, you will have to do so in your customary
manner. In short, we do not have an access number.
