Tripod United, our intramural soccer team, dusted off its cleats this past week with our first two games of the season. The team sees several returning players from last year: fleet-footed Jonathan Buoni, ever-threatening CEBo , our wing performer Matt Harris, forward-thinking Kara, mid-fielder Sue Reilly, center-dominating Ray as well as our fittest player — Dwayne. The defense is evolving with Kate on the left, Ethan on the right, stoic-sweeper Derek Bruneau, stoic-stopper Jonathan Skavlem, and goalkeeper Hank. Newcomers include myself subbing for defense and Steve Masters who returns to share defense and mid-field.

It may have been the euphoria of leaving the office before 7 PM or enjoying the feeling of physical exhaustion before halftime, but we lost both games 3-1 and 4-2. No worries though, as the team spirit is undaunted and the sideline supply of half-cut oranges is intact! So far we've had no hooligans or riots on the sideline, but just wait for our first victory.....oh wayyyy oooohhh wayyyy oooooohh waaaay oooooohh wayyyyyy!
