Welcome to the Tripod Insider your source for all things Tripod. This week, C.E.Bo goes postal on member e-mails, Bruce and Mike find a new way to raise funds, and one of our own gets her name in lights. Read more about it after finding out what's new on the site.
Content And Services
This week, Harry Goldstein and Tripod members swap stories about the reality of the modern Work Day. First up is "Bus Spotting," Harry's account of the sublime and surreal moments on his daily commute. Then read how our members spend their time traveling to and from the office!
Next up is a look at the lunch break usually an all-too-short oasis of sanity in the middle of the Work Day for Harry AND for Tripod members.
Harry pored through our members' tales of wonder and woe and includes many of those in "Office Hours: It's About Time." In the end, Goldstein suggests that overworked, dissatisfied employees need to be building up some sweat equity in the companies for which they work.
So how do you feel about the notion of employee ownership? Is Goldstein on to something there, or is he just some sort of pinko goofball?
But wait there's more! We've launched a special new "Work Day" conference so you can share additional stories about your office hours (or suggest ways to make time spent there more tolerable).

Are you a native New Yorker, a savvy San Franciscan, or a hip Houstonian? This week, in "Always Mind the Natives," Harmon Leon shows you how to vacation without leaving your home.
Then, the author of "Wasted Away: The Worldwide Party Guide" explains why (in his opinion) drinking a merry round is the best way to get on with the locals abroad.
There's no better way to experience a city than through the eyes of a weathered resident. Why visit tourist traps when you can be led away from the beaten path? So tell us about where you live and what a visitor should do there.
Plus, the latest dispatch from our friends on the road to Tierra Del Fuego, Q&A; with Doctor Bob, new topics in the Women's Room Conference, and a letter from me. All in HOMELIFE.

It was busy week for C.E.Bo. Not only did el jefe celebrate his 26th birthday (there goes our "25-year-old CEO" p.r. hook), he also spent a night answering e-mail from the members. That's right: For one full evening, Bo looked up lost passwords and pecked out responses to your toughest questions, two fingers at a time. And though his production wasn't bad (his 100 e-mails in four hours is about half the going rate), as the membership director I've got a bit of advice for him: Don't give up your day job.
Speaking of productivity, Bruce and Mike found a great new revenue stream over the weekend: Illicit wagering. Yep, they spent their Saturday in the office working and listening to Kentucky Derby, during which Bruce introduced a hot new betting strategy: Pick the gray horses. You laugh, but Silver Charm, that ashen flash, came in for him, and now last winter's heating bill is all paid off. Hey, if it works, it works!
And finally, a standing O for our intern Alyssa, who lit up the stage as Ouiser Boudreaux in a local production of "Steel Magnolias" that left a gaggle of Tripodians weeping. Of course, those could have been tears of shame, as nearly a dozen of Alyssa's co-workers arrived late to the tiny, 40-seat theater and were promptly shown to their front-row seats.
