This week, we wanted to highlight a few winners at Tripod. (Don't get me wrong we're ALL winners.)
First, here are the winners for best decorated cubicle. For those of you who haven't heard, we have cubicles here now. With a growing number of employees and a finite amount of space, we had no other choice. By the way, we've come to love Dilbert. In the east wing, first prize went to Software Engineer Kate Krolicki for her ingenious use of leftover wire spools. Kate has crafted a shelving system out of spools, and stores on it everything from scissors and tacks to magic cards. In the west wing, first prize went to Bet Alwin, our new Editorial Director. Bet has covered all of the metal in her office with magnets. They are not just any magnets, they're musical magnets. Wow. She's taking a couple of Tripodians over to Northampton this weekend to show them the store where she bought them.
Honorable mention goes to Steve Pusateri, the Waltham and Williamstown Facilities Manager, for blessing us with two huge, plush, purple velvet sofas in the front waiting area. What a place to take a nap, I mean...
And now for the real winner! Michelle Greenleaf, one of our illustrious Senior Software Engineers, took her traditional trip to Las Vegas last week. Unfortunately she missed the Elvis Convention by a week, but she got her dose of Elvis at an Elvis impersonation show instead. She said the highlight of her trip was hitting triple 7's in the Hilton Flamingo. She's no amateur she came home with almost 1,000 bucks. Wow again.
Next week we'll investigate, and hopefully confirm, some local rumors of an invading Taco Bell. Mmmmm... burritos.
(Note: Much of this inside information was provided by Jo Ann. She most definitely has her finger on the pulse of Tripod. Thanks, Jo Ann!)
