Q: How do I create my own guestbook?
Go to: http://guestworld.tripod.com and fill out the form — you will be given the HTML to copy and paste into your homepage. Tripod offers Guestworld guestbooks FREE to the entire Web building community.
For the time being, both Guestworld guestbooks and the old Tripod guestbooks will continue to work. At this time, you can no longer sign up for the old Tripod guestbooks. However, if you currently have the old version on your homepage and need help with it, read on for more information. (We think Guestworld does a great job with guestbooks — try it out and you'll see! You won't regret switching over.)
Q: How do I read and delete messages from my Tripod guestbook?
To read and delete messages from your Tripod guestbook, go to:
http://members.tripod.com/service/premium_guestbook
When you log in, your Tripod guestbook will appear; if you have already logged in, your guestbook will be waiting for you. As the guestbook owner, you can delete any entry you choose: Each entry has a DELETE MESSAGE option. You can also choose the LEAVE A MESSAGE option, like any visitor to your guestbook. Messages are listed in the order they are submitted, with the most recent message at the top.
Q: How do I link my Tripod guestbook to my member page?
Linking your Tripod guestbook to your member page requires an ordinary hyperlink. Link to the following URL:
http://members.tripod.com/bin/premium_guestbook?member_name=[your Tripod Member name]
For example, if your member name is "TriMember", you could put the following on your Web page:
<A HREF="http://members.tripod.com/bin/premium_guestbook?member_name=TriMember"> Please sign my guest book! </A>
Q: How do I leave a message in someone else's Tripod guestbook?
To leave a message in a member's Tripod guestbook, click on either of the LEAVE A MESSAGE buttons (there's one button at the top of the Guestbook and another one at the bottom). When the text window appears, enter your name, the subject, your e-mail address, and the text of your message. Clicking the RESET button clears all the fields. When you are satisfied with your message, hit the SUBMIT button. You will now see the guestbook with your new entry at the top. You can now exit the guestbook by using the BACK button on your browser.
Q: Can I change the appearance of my Tripod guestbook?
You can't customize your Tripod guestbook, but if you sign up for a Guestworld guestbook (a Tripod service available to the entire Web building community) you can!
