Tripod Help!
At the member help desk, you can get answers to some of the most
common questions asked by our members. To find some solutions
right away, check out the list of links to your left, under
"Membership Support." This section will help you manage your own
Tripod membership!
Q: I forgot my password, what do I do?
If you know your Tripod member name and have forgotten your password,
please use the Find Lost Password
tool.
Q:
I don't remember my Tripod member name, how do I find it?
You may look up your member name based on the e-mail address you
registered with Tripod, using the Membership Support Center, or just
Q:
My password does't work. I'm sure that I entered it correctly, what's wrong?
The most common reason that people have difficulty accessing Tripod is
due to the fact the Tripod member names and passwords are CASE sensitive. Please make certain that
you are entering your member name and password with the appropriate
capitalization. If you continue to have difficulties, you may request
a new temporary password by using the Find Lost Password tool.
Q:
Is it possible to change my member name?
Once you've registered with Tripod, there's no way to change your User Name
unless we cancel your current account. This will involve deleting any homepage
or resume you currently hold on Tripod. If this is what you want, simply send
the following information to [email protected] with the subject line "DELETE MEMBERSHIP".
YOUR FULL NAME:
Please understand that, for reasons of security, we cannot delete an account unless the above information matches your Tripod Registration exactly.
Q:
What do I get with my Tripod membership?
You get access to all of Tripod's interactive content and services
such as chat, conferencing, and the Homepage Studio. You also receive 11MB of
disk space for your free homepage. For a complete list of membership
benefits, please see our Tripod Membership page.
Q:
What does case sensitive mean?
Case sensitive means that the computer distinguishes between UPPER
CASE and lower case letters in things like file names, passwords, and
member names. When you're using a system like Tripod that is case
sensitive, you have to be careful to type names exactly as they are
shown.
When you first access an interactive service at Tripod, you'll be prompted for
your member name and password. Simply type them in.
A member profile is a brief description of you intended to let other
members get to know you. Please see the Member Profiles section for more
information.
Q:
How do I make a member profile?
If you'd like to create a member profile, proceed to our Member Profile
page.
Q:
Can I register more than one person to my e-mail address?
Tripod allows only one registered membership per e-mail address.
If someone you know would like to register for a Tripod account and they need their own e-mail address,
free e-mail accounts can be found at MailCity.
